Attracted by the beauty of Austria, Alexandra decided to leave Bucharest in 2015 with her family to start a new life in the Salzkammergut area of Upper Austria. Before leaving Romania, Alex studied Economics in Foreign Languages at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest from where she graduated with a Master’s in Law. She has more than ten years‘ experience of working in financial leasing at one of the top international banking groups. Alex loves languages and in addition to her L1 of Romanian, she is proficient in English, French, German, and Italian. In her spare time Alex enjoys spending time with her kids, skiing, and swimming.
Emmet, who comes from the west coast of Ireland has been living in Austria since September 2015. Having studied Engineering in Ireland through DIT and in Switzerland with Hochschule Luzern, he obtained two Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering and in Manufacturing and Design. He then decided to follow a dream of becoming a teacher and completed the CertTESOL. Since then he has taught thousands of students in over 150 Volkschulen and Mittelschulen in Austria. In his free time he enjoys cycling, hiking and enjoying the beautiful Austrian scenery.
Hannes started working in the Car industry as an Environmental/Health/Safety Manager and in his free time he loves reading/writing English books, travelling & meeting new people from around the world and sharing good moments and stories with them. As he heard about The English Teaching Academy he decided that he wanted to go that way because of the importance of the English language these days. Having Native Speakers as colleagues and English as the primary business language, has taught him so much and has in fact become such a part of his daily life, that work gets more and more fun – and fun is learning!
Petr is originally from the Czech Republic and has been playing football since he was six years old. His dream growing up was to be a professional football player and he achieved his dream aged fifteen! Since then he has been playing with various clubs in the Czech Republic including Sparta Prague in the Champions league. He even played for the Czech National Squad. During my career as a player Petr also found a passion for training others and for the past number of years he has been training the SV Gmunden 1921 team. Alongside this role he also works with the Academy and use his English. His career has shown him how vital it is to be able to speak English when working internationally!
Isabel was born and raised in Austria. After she finished her Bachelor in Sports Science/Human Body Movement and Sports-therapy she completed a Diploma in Social Peadagogics before heading to Central America where she lived for almost three years – and met her husband, Dave. She has worked in educational and international development projects in most parts of Guatemala and Nicaragua, Australia, Vietnam and eastern Europe. Planning on further travel, Isabel attained her CELTA and accompanied Dave to many countries and locations as a certified Trainer in Language Teaching specialised in teaching adults and CLIL. Project based work is her preferred method and multitasking is her thing. Her background in executing health and safety projects in primary schools in lower Austria has enabled her to take on the role as our Project Coordinator for Pressbaum. Isabel believes in the program ABCi offers and wants to provide her best support to the schools, teachers and the team.Her biggest passion is her family – Dave and her 1,5 year old daughter Zoé.
Claudia was born and raised in Wels (Upper Austria). She holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering & Economics and a PhD in Technical Science from Johannes Kepler University of Linz. While writing her thesis she worked as a university assistant in the department of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry. After her studies she worked for an engineering company in research and development, and as a product manager and international project manager of surface treatment plants for many years. She lives in Vorchdorf with her partner and 7-year-old son. She loves spending her time with her family and enjoys gardening, playing the piano, travelling, skiing, doing needlework and flying an airplane.
